What does lawn maintenance service include?
In Maine, after a long winter, controlling thatch is one of the most important – and most overlooked – parts of spring lawn care. Thatch is simply the layer of dead grass, roots, and debris that accumulates between the soil surface and the green grass blades above. Once the the ground has dried from the melting snow, the property is de-thatched, we’ll begin our weekly lawn mowing regiment. In the spring and summer our mower deck is set high to allow the grass to grow strong and healthy. Later in the season, toward fall, we lower our mower deck fall is lower to get it ready to go into dormant for the winter.
